Salamonie/Mississinewa Activities

 
The Mighty Mississinewa Triathlon brings 300 athletes to Mississinewa Reservoir each September.

 

Secretive waterfalls bring visitors to hike, picnic and horseback ride in the Salamonie River State Forest.
The massive picnic shelter built by the Civilian Conservation Corps shadows visitors to Hominy Ridge Lake in the Salamonie River State Forest with history while they picnic, hike and fish with their families.
The horse campgrounds at Salamonie Reservoir are popular locations for families to bring their horses and go trail riding. Salamonie has an extensive network of trails and offers a Riders Rendezvous workshop each September.
Salamonie and Mississinewa Reservoirs provide a variety of campsite types including primitive, modern electric, youth group campsites, horse camping sites, full hook-up, and even camping cabins.
Special events and workshops led by the Upper Wabash Interpretive Services (www.dnr.IN.gov/uwis) add value and enjoyment to camping at Salamonie and Mississinewa Reservoirs. These campers are learning outdoor cooking at Salamonie's Senior Fall Fest.
Boating and other water sports are very popular activities at Salamonie and Mississinewa Reservoirs.
