Paradise Spring Riverwalk (3/4 mile) - 260-563-4171
Paradise Spring is the historical site where the signing of a peace treaty took place between the United States and the Potawatomi and Miami Indians. Now a park, the site is utilized for festivals and various events. The addition of the Riverwalk Trail has brought walkers, skaters, bikers, and joggers into the park. It is now a three quarter mile loop with a rustic overlook at the edge of the river.

North Manchester Harter's Grove (¼ mile) at Warvel Park - 260-982-4919
108 W 7th Street, North Manchester. Walking path winds one-quarter mile through grove.


Salamonie Lake - 260-468-2125
Tree Trail - Moderate - 1.25 miles
Bloodroot Trail - Moderate - 13 miles
Runs with snowmobile trail. Hikers should use caution in winter when there is snow.
Marsh Trail - Easy - 1.5 miles
Cross Country Skiing Trail

Turkey Cove Trail - Easy - .4 mile
Wildlife Management Trail - Easy- l mile
All trails are signed and groomed according to their suggested use. Trails wind in and out of woods and clearings, following pond perimeters and the reservoir boundary. Please observe and abide by trail directional signs. Hikers, horsemen, mushroom hunters, and other patrons are urged to wear hunter orange during hunting seasons. No motorized or wheeled vehicles allowed.


Mississinewa Lake - 765-473-6528
Easy Access Trail - Easy - 0.4 mile.
This paved loop is in the Frances Slocum Picnic Area. A brochure is available at the property office.
Lost Sister Trail - Moderate - 2.5 miles.
This moderate, self-guided loop trail winds through mature woods with excellent wildflowers in spring.
Blue Heron Trail - Moderate - 2.5 miles.
This loop trail travels moderate terrain, is located in the Miami S.R.A. and includes several scenic views of the lake and dam. A self guided brochure is available at the property office.
Moswa Trail - Moderate - 1.5 miles.
This loop trail crosses meadows, follows Troyer's Creek, and includes a spur through woods to a pond.
Shepoconnah Trail - Moderate - 2.5 miles.
This trail begins behind the modern campground, has three loops that wander through open meadows and young forest. Look for deer, nesting birds and summer wildflowers.
Wildlife Area Hiking - Parking lots are provided near many areas, and access lanes provide paths. For more information, contact the property office. Hunting is allowed in many of these areas in season. Hunter Orange clothing is recommended.
